I finished the Necklace!!!!

What a busy week this has been. I met with the owner of Grand River Beads in Cleveland this week and have scheduled my first four classes. YAY! I am so excited.

School starts on Monday for me and Tuesday for Riley. Today we went school clothes shopping. Kids clothes are a total rip off. They wanted $25 for a shirt for a little girl. I was able to go into my sizes and find shirts all over the place for under $15. Needless to say, Riley got a little less at that store than I did. hahaha But she will still be clothed and styling this year, don’t you worry about that.

I finally finished the necklace I have been working on. Good heavens it took forever. The final chain measures 18 1/2″ long. I figure the selling price of this beauty is going to be close to $1,000. It is made with fine silver which is 99.9% pure. This is not Sterling. The necklace is beautiful. It is soft and feels absolutely wonderful on.

Another chain

This is another chain that I have been working on. I thought it would be good for a chain making class.

This one is made with 18 gauge fine silver. It takes about an hour per inch on this bracelet. It is beautiful, luxurious and feels great on. I figure the price on this is somewhere around $300 – $400. I am thinking of making a necklace to go with it. Although the price on that would end up right around $1,000. But wouldn’t that be cool to have a piece that is $1,000? I think I will do it for that very reason.

The only piece of sterling silver on this bracelet is the little catch. Everything else is done with fine silver. Silver and fire. Two of my favorite things.

What a busy week

Wow, what a busy week this has been. I have been frantically trying to come up with some projects for a couple of possible classes. I am very excited about that prospect, and nervous all at the same time. Yesterday I sat down and also made myself make a new pendant. Here are the fruits of my labors this week.

Featured in Beadage

Last week after making my Purple Swirl piece I submitted it to an online “gallery” of sorts. I didn’t think much of it and had actually forgotten that I submitted it with all that is going on for me right now.

I just received word that my submission was accepted and has already been published. You can see my submission at:
http://www.beadage.net/gallery-purple-swirl.html

This is going to be a lot of fun.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I really appreciate it.

Copper Delight

This piece was made for a challenge. The challenge was to use copper in our pieces. I rarely do anything with beading and this is the first time I have done anything like this. This one took about 6 hours to make. And of course, everything is completely hand done. My fingers are still numb and full of little holes from the wire poking me. HAHAHA.

Let me know what you think.

For Holly

I made this set for my husbands cousin, Holly. I wanted to post these pictures here so she could see them. Hopefully she likes them.

They are made with Unakite and 14k gold-filled wire. I hand made the ear wires. The earrings are just shy of 2″ long from the top of the ear wire to the bottom swirl.

3-tagges should write a blogpost of these facts

4- at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named

5-go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they’re tagged

So now I have to come up with 8 random facts…… hmmmmmmm

My first Etsy Sale

Well, I added some new items to my new Etsy shop on Thursday evening (like around midnight) and when I woke up friday morning one of my very favorite pieces had sold. YAY! What fabulous luck. Friday was a very good day. I was on cloud 9 all day long. I even received a couple of other new orders.

So what piece sold you ask? Well, let me show you.

Thats right, my beautiful Four Diamonds piece. This was probably one of my very best pieces ever. I was so proud of it and loved wearing it. I hope my buyer enjoys it as much as I did.
